Clonanav Regular Tom De La Mare had an amazing fish on the Anner yesterday. The fish was estimated at 6lbs! The water was exceptionally low and clear so we could see the fish prior to hooking it. He was sitting in a tricky spot in front of an over hanging tree, we watched an observed the fish for a while before casting to it.
Using a combination of a dry and dropper and a very long 7X leader Tom made an excellent cast to the fish and hooked it on the first attempt. Using a Hardy Zephrus and Hardy CADD reel, Tom managed to land the fish after a long fight and using tiny 7X leader.
An amazing fish, and a personal best for Tom, the fish was safely released.
