Trout Fishing Improving
1 |
With better weather over the past week or so water levels are finally dropping. The trout fishing is starting to improve a little, however there is still very little dry fly fishing with most fish being caught on nymphs and streamers. The Suir is still pretty high, but is starting to drop and prospects for salmon over the next few days are excellent. Several salmon were caught this week on spinner and a few lost on fly. Fish still seem to be running though the system and heading upstream at speed!
Keith and Ian had some fantastic fishing this week on the Tar with some good fish being caught on Nymphs. The high water this year has meant that there has been very little weed in the river making it easier to fish. Most fish were caught on NZ style with a klinkhammer and a small PTN flashback.
Weather for this week is for some drizzle but to pick up a little which should improve the fishing.[gallery link="file" columns="6"]
